At 7kW, this medium output wood burning stove exemplifies all that's best in modern stove-making and comes from Charnwood, the UK's leading manufacturer. Environmentally it's just about as good as it gets – it's both Defra Approved and has also achieved Level 5, the highest rating for clean burning in the independently verified clearSkies mark scheme. It's also highly efficient at 82%(A+) ensuring that less of your valuable fuel is used to achieve a practical heat range between 6kW to 8kW. There are two models to chose from, the Low and the 220mm higher integral Store Stand model.

The first thing you notice about the Aire 7 is just how big the air washed window is. Compare it with any other 7kW stove and it wins hands down every time. Even the cool touch handle has been designed to produce the minimum visual interruption to the front so that nothing gets in the way of your enjoyment of the Charnwood's renowned flame picture. It will certainly make a mesmerising focal point in even the largest of rooms whether in a traditional fireplace or free-standing in a contemporary open plan living space.

Controlling those wonderful flames as well as the fuel consumption couldn't be simpler with the Aire's single control Quattroflow Air Management System. This has four basic settings (and almost limitless subtle tweaks in between) so that you can always very easily deliver the correct mix of combustion air whichever stage of the burn cycle you're at. The big window and minimal door frame provides easy access to the vermiculite lined fire chamber which will swallow up 390mm (15") long logs with no problem. It also features a sliding fire bed for simpler ash removal when it's needed.

The Aire 7 is suitable for installation on a 12mm hearth and features direct external air supply (DEAS) capability making it a great choice for low energy homes. It can flue from the top or rear and there's if you choose rear flue there's an inexpensive space-saving vertical flue adaptor option, and together with the drop down baffle plates, this still allows the sweep to clean the flue system through the stove. The rear heat shield option can reduce the distances to combustible materials from 420mm to just 110mm at the rear (when insulated flue pipe is also used) providing greater installation flexibility than other 7kW stoves. You can choose from from eight designer colours, including gunmetal grey and almond. 10 year manufacturer's warranty.
