A stove with a high heat output will use considerably more fuel than a typical 5kW stove, and therefore it's important to choose an efficient stove that has the heat output best suited to the room volume so that valuable fuel is not wasted. In Stove Yard Cheshire's experience, when too much heat from a high output stove is being produced for the room, the temptation is to either continuously turn the stove down, creating smoky, incomplete combustion, or to use considerably smaller fuel loads than the stove was ever designed and tested to take. Both of these will mean an inefficient, poorly performing, and very disappointing stove. So choosing the stove with the right output is critical.
