A multi fuel stove is one that has been configured to allow you to efficiently burn seasoned wood logs, anthracite (which is naturally smokeless), or manufactured smokeless coal ovals. At Stove Yard Cheshire, we have the biggest choice of superb quality multi fuel stoves on display (as well as live burning models) to suit every budget, including the very best British-made stoves from Charnwood, Dunsley, and Dean Forge.
Most of them are Defra approved so that you will be able to legally burn wood (as well as smokeless coal) in a Smoke Control Area. A multi fuel stove will make a great choice if you like the idea of having a back-up fuel if your preferred choice is unavailable or if you want to slow burn for long periods, for example overnight, which is generally much more successful with smokeless coal.
