The 5kW Huccaby is essentially the same stove as the Dartmoor W5 Eco and is both Defra approved and ClearSkies Level 5 rated for its ultra-low emissions. However, the Huccaby Eco comes with a much higher leg which increases its overall height to 785mm, some 145mm higher than the Dartmoor 5. This extra height and tasteful proportions will make the Huccaby Eco a wonderful choice for the larger fireplace opening and with its highly controllable 5.0kW heat output it will also be ideally suited to small to medium sized living spaces. Efficiency is an excellent A+ rated 83.1% when burning wood and like the Dartmoor 5 the Huccaby Eco also comes in a wood burning only version or a true multi fuel version with cast iron riddling grate and ash pan.
Dean Stoves have been producing exceptional stoves with outstanding performance from their factory in Devon for over 50 years and their Huccaby Eco is yet another great example of their traditional hand built skills combined with their expertise in state-of-the-art clean burning combustion technology. A fine quality British cast iron door, with a particularly large window, delivers a virtually uninterrupted view of the whole of the fire chamber so the at the full effect of the mesmerising flames can be enjoyed from wherever you are in the room. However a large window is no good unless it’s kept crystal clear by a powerful air wash and that’s exactly what you get with the Huccaby Eco, something Dean Stoves are famous for.
The Huccaby Eco’s fire chamber is vermiculite lined to maximise combustion temperatures and efficiency and will easily handle logs up to 375mm (15”) long. There’s also a row of pre-heated tertiary air jets along the back wall of the fire chamber designed to wring out every last calorie of heat from the fuel and burn off even more of the particulates before the combustion gases finally leave the stove. The Huccaby Eco also offers you practical user-friendly control of the total combustion air supply for whatever type of fuel you’re burning with three separate controls (one at the front and two at the side of the stove) including for tertiary air to allow you to fine tune the desired comfort level and fuel economy. Robust premium steel bodywork completes the picture of this popular British made stove.
The Huccaby Eco can be installed on a 12mm decorative non-combustible hearth and for additional installation flexibility there’s an option for an extra rear double layered heat shield to further reduce the distance at the rear to combustible materials to just 50mm when twin wall insulated flue pipe is used throughout. When using the rear flue option or when the chimney aperture is awkwardly located, you can opt for the space-saving Back Box rear flue adaptor which will still allow the Huccaby Eco’s flue to be swept through the stove but at the same time will save considerable space at the rear over a traditional T-piece or swept bend. If you haven’t got the width but like the Huccaby Eco’s simple traditional styling then also check out Dean Stoves’ two slimmer Foxworthy Eco models, also available as wood burning or multi fuel or perhaps one of their ever-so practical Dartmoor Baker 5 Eco stoves with ovens.
To co-ordinate with your room’s interior decoration you can choose your Huccaby to come in one of eight subtle designer colours. Should you choose to do this then we would also recommend opting for the stainless steel handle to make a pleasing contrast. As you’d expect from one of Britain’s leading stove manufacturers your new Huccaby Eco will come with a five-year warranty.
