The Hwam 2640C with door-fronted log store is a truly 'classic' contemporary convector stove from one of the world's leading stove makers. The Hwam 2640C sets a high benchmark with its combination of design detail, premium materials and build quality as well as its advanced combustion technology which delivers high efficiency with low emissions significantly better than those required by the current Ecodesign regulations. Not only is the Hwam 6240C Defra approved to burn wood in urban areas but it has also passed the exacting German DIBt room seal tests to ensure safe operation in low energy homes, including those with MVHR systems. With its compact semi-sircular footprint and low distances to combustible materials the Hwam 2640C will not only make a stunning free-standing focal point but will also look equally great installed in a space-saving corner setting.

The Hwam 2640C has a practical nominal 4.5kW output with a handy heat range from 2.0kW to 6.0kW (depending on fuel load) which will allow you to use your stove far more often throughout the year and importantly it will also be very economical to run being A+ rated with an excellent tested efficiency of 80.3%. Hwam's single discreet slider control, combined with the AutoPilot system which comes as standard, allows you to precisely control the 2640C's heat with the minimum user input. The tried and tested Autopilot will do most of the work for you to automatically provide the correct amount of critical primary air that's needed for quicker starting fires and for cleaner combustion right up to the end of the burn cycle. All you have to do is use the slider control to manage the flame height and heat output.

Hwam also give you the option to upgrade the 2640C with their patented SmartControl (only available in build stage) where the room temperature can be set and gentle reminders to refuel the stove are sounded. You'll also never need to worry about how to achieve the optimum and most eco-friendly performance  — the SmartControl electronics simply takes care of all of this.

The Hwam 2640C features a well balanced fire chamber door which incorporates Hwam's unique door closing mechanism to ensure that there's a tight fitting room seal every time with the minimum of effort. there's a big gently curved window, which is larger than most, that's air washed from the top and both sides for more effective cleaning. The 2640C's fire chamber is lined with highly engineered and tightly fitting compressed vermiculite fire bricks for superior insulation that will promote the higher temperatures needed for the cleanest combustion. The pre-heated tertiary air jets towards the top of the fire chamber also aid the Hwam 2640C's clean combustion credentials by burning off even more of any remaining particulates before they leave the fire chamber. A larger lower pressed steel door, which you simply push to open, carries through the 2640C's clean modern lines and this conceals the ash pan compartment with its separate ash pan as well as some handy storage space for logs. As you'd expect from a DIBt accredited stove the Hwam 2640C also features direct external air supply capability which has the advantage of being able to be input from either the rear or base.  

In The Stove Yard's opinion the Hwam 2640C is attractively proportioned and gives you a great view of the fire. At 1 metre high it definitely not only has the physical presence to become a striking focal point, especially in a small to medium sized living space, but also to provide additional generous heat to supplement any existing heating such as heat pumps.
