CHARNWOOD C-FOUR BLU WOOD BURNING STOVE

We're very fond of this little British-made Charnwood classic. The best-selling Defra Approved C-Four wood burner features beautifully gentle curves which are neither traditional or ultra modern so that it’s going to look equally good with any interior or fire surround style. The C-Four Blu operates at the higher end of stove efficiencies (A+ / 82.0%) with a nominal heat output of 4.9kW which means that there is no requirement for a dedicated air vent in a pre-2008 house. The heat output range starts at just 2.0kW and goes up to a a handy 5.5kW, depending on the wood fuel load. The C-Four Blu is also incredibly clean-burning with the new, independently verified emissions standard ClearSkies Mark, awarding it their highest Level 5 rating.

The Charnwood C-Four features one single push / pull air control for very easy operation and fuel management. At the base of the C-Four firebox is a sealed manifold where the correct amount of primary (lower) and secondary (upper) combustion air is mixed for total control throughout the burn cycle. The air box also incorporates the main 80mm diameter direct external air supply (DEAS) inlet at the rear which can be easily connected to the outside air with optional non-combustible connecting duct and external grille. This means that the C-Four does not need to consume the hot air that it's just created or cause unwanted draughts. The secondary air is pre-heated to deliver an effective and efficient air wash down the inside of the glass to help keep it squeaky clean. The C-Four fire chamber is lined with additional steel plate (there are no traditional firebricks required) to maximise the log length up to 280mm (11").

The C-Four has a minimalist fire chamber as there is no grate or ash pan. This means that you're not paying for anything that you really don't need, thus helping to make the C-Four an attractive buy (apart from its very good looks). However, there’s also an optional drop-in open grate for easier ash removal. Other options include a choice of three heights with the standard low plinth and high legs or log store stand for added-visual presence. There’s also a rear heat shield (great for significantly reducing the distances to combustible materials) and a space-saving rear vertical flue adaptor. The C-Four comes in a choice of 8 paint finishes including Almond (Ivory) and standard black and carries a 10-year manufacturer’s warranty when purchased from an authorised Charnwood dealer.

1 Low – elegant front cut out plinth: Overall height 560mm

2 High Leg – graceful legs accentuate period look: Overall height 765mm

3 Store Stand – good sized storage area for logs: Overall height 745mm
