The unfussy traditionally styled and Defra approved Dean Stoves Dartmoor 5 Eco comes in either a wood burning only model or, for not a lot more money, a multi fuel version with riddler grate and ash pan. As you'd expect from this established British manufacturer the hand built Dartmoor 5 Eco is exceptionally well made. Even the premium quality cast iron door has been cast in Britain and you can''t always say that for other 'British' stoves. Fifty years of stove making expertise is not only clearly in evidence in the Dartmoor 5's high construction standards but also in its outstanding performance.
With a highly controllable 5.0kW heat output and A+ rated 82.1% efficiency (wood), as well as ultra low emissions that achieve the top Level 5 in the independently verified ClearSkies mark, the best-selling Dartmoor 5 Eco is a compact stove that should certainly be worthy of your consideration. There are three separate combustion air controls, including tertiary air, for precision management of flame height and heat output whether you're burning logs or approved smokeless coal. A powerful air wash helps keep the large glass area clear and robust matt black clamp handle, sturdy feature hinges and heritage leg profile complete the picture of this well-considered and perfectly proportioned traditional stove.
The space-saving Dartmoor 5 Eco also has the distinct advantage of being able to be installed in a brick or stone fireplace opening with just a 50mm air gap at both sides – half the minimum distance usually required. It can also be installed on a 12mm decorative non-comustible hearth and there's also a sweep-through rear flue adaptor option to significantly reduce the space you need at the back of the stove when using the rear flue option. The Dartmoor 5's rear heat shield and integral base protector provide the extra protection that makes all of this possible.
